The e-cigarette is a smoking alternative that millions of people around the world now use to enjoy the sensation of smoking without the smell, tar and carbon monoxide of cigarettes. E-cigarettes contain no tobacco, and they produce no smoke. Instead, they produce vapour that you inhale.
E-cigarettes don't only supply you with nicotine -- they're actually satisfying as they give a similar sensation to smoking and can be enjoyable to use.
People use a variety of terms to describe e-cigarettes. Some of those terms include e-cigs, vape pens, mods and personal vaporizers. Since e-cigarette users don't like to use the term "smoking" to describe that they do, they invented the term "vaping." Vaping is the act of using an e-cigarette.
An e-cigarette consists of three basic parts:
When you use a Liberty Flights Premier or Taste e-cigarette, you hold a button to turn on the battery and activate the atomizer. You'll then puff on the e-cigarette as if it were a real cigarette. Your body absorbs the nicotine in the e-liquid through your mouth, throat and lungs. Because you'll feel the nicotine hit your lungs when you inhale the vapour, you'll feel the same kind of satisfaction that you experience from smoking.
E-cigarettes don't stink. E-cigarettes don't produce smoke -- they produce vapour that dissipates in seconds. E-cigarette vapour leaves a sweet smell in the air for a moment before disappearing forever. Unlike tobacco smoke, the vapour doesn't make your clothes, hair, car or home smell bad.
E-cigarette vapour contains less chemicals. As you're probably aware, cigarette smoke contains thousands of chemicals when lit. E-liquid contains much fewer. E-cigarette vapour contains no tar or carbon monoxide.
E-cigarettes cost less. Cigarette prices in Australia have just increased again and will continue to do so. By 2020, a single packet of cigarettes will cost more than $40. You can purchase one of our e-cigarette starter kits for less than the price of a packet of cigarettes. E-liquid costs dramatically less than tobacco.
E-cigarettes offer flavour. Cigarette makers add sweeteners and menthol to their products, but those flavour enhancers can't disguise the fact that tobacco smoke can only taste like one thing. E-liquids tantalise your palate with an endless variety of flavour combinations. You can use an e-liquid that tastes like raspberry cheesecake, fruity breakfast cereal or freshly baked cookies. There is no end to the variety of e-liquid flavours available.
The Governments of Australia and New Zealand have not approved e-cigarettes as smoking cessation aids. Because the e-cigarette is a recent invention, long-term studies aren't available to prove that e-cigarettes are completely safe or that they reliably help people quit tobacco. In addition, nicotine is an addictive chemical that you should avoid consuming if possible. However, a growing body of scientific evidence suggests that e-cigarettes may be significantly less harmful than smoking. If you smoke and can't -- or don't want to -- quit, vaping is an alternative that you should consider. Many people obtain their nicotine entirely from e-cigarettes and no longer use tobacco products.
If you aren't sure whether e-cigarettes are right for you, we recommend asking your doctor for advice.
